Gakenke – a unique place on the world's coffee map
The Gakenke region is one of the most fascinating coffee-growing areas in East Africa. Located at 1900 m above sea level, it offers excellent conditions for producing high-quality Arabica – fertile soils, ideal humidity, and cool nights contribute to the slow ripening of the cherries, resulting in greater complexity and depth of flavor.
The Muhondo washing station has played a key role in the development of the region – not only by providing infrastructure for coffee processing but also by improving the living conditions of local communities. Thanks to it, farmers receive fair wages, training, and access to clean water. And we – get the chance to enjoy one of the world’s most refined coffees.
